Description
We have completely renovated an authentic, old village house. It is located in Arafo, a village at an altitude of 450 meters, where a large part of José’s family lives. The house has 2 bedrooms, is therefore suitable for 4 people, and it is fully equipped. There is no other way than to unwind on the partly covered, south-facing terrace!
In Arafo itself there is a lovely village square, where you can get a good cup of coffee and various sandwiches in the shade of a number of huge trees. The village has around 5,000 residents and nobody seems to be in a hurry. There are a few good local restaurants within walking distance, yet we recommend everyone to rent a car to explore the area more easily. It is wonderful to walk from the house (steep climbs) and the beach of Las Caletillas is only a fifteen minute drive away.
Bedroom no 1
This bedroom stays nice and cool because of the thick walls. It has 2 box spring beds of 90 x 200 cm that have new, excellent mattresses. The air conditioning can both cool and heat as needed. You will also find enough cupboard space in the bedroom, with both shelves and a hanging area. On the inside of the door we have hung a beach basket for you, equipped with two beach towels.
Bedroom no 2
This bedroom is newly built and has a door that leads to the terrace. A brand new box spring bed measuring 160 x 200 cm is at your disposal.
Of course here is also air conditioning and a beach basket filled with towels.
Bathroom
The bathroom has a walk-in shower, a double sink, washing machine and a toilet. There are towels, shampoo and shower gel available.
Living room & kitchen
The living room has retained its high, beamed ceiling and original wooden floor. We have created a cozy seating area with a large 4-seater sofa, pallet heater and smart TV. When it cools down in the evening, this is the ideal place to settle down.
In the living room is also the dining table, in case you do not want to go out or enjoy dinner on the terrace.
The living room automatically leads you to the kitchen. As you may expect form us, you will also find a Nespresso coffee maker with milk frother in this kitchen. There is a combi oven / microwave, hob, dishwasher and fridge / freezer combination. The kitchen offers, via a small staircase, access to the garden with carport and large terrace.
Terrace
At the back of the house, over the entire width, you will find the terrace. We have ‘stolen’ a part of it to make a parking space, but there is still a huge terrace with lounge area and sun beds left. With a little luck, you can even harvest some ripe oranges. It is nice and quiet. Some people are chatting on the street, some birds are chirping and sometimes a dog barks, but that’s about it. Wonderful, right ?!
